Huge lineups revealed for this year's OFF Sonar events in June 2018
Posted on: 08 Mar 2018You probably didn't need one in the first place, but this week the team behind the renowned OFF Sónar events have provided you with a massive excuse to treat yourself to a long weekend in Barcelona this summer. Taking place from Thursday 14th-Monday 18th June, OFF Sónar welcomes some of the biggest names in the underground music scene to the best venues in the city, with the likes of Moodymann, Jamie XX, Dixon, Nina Kraviz and many more set to grace the sun-drenched stages across four days.
Combining cutting-edge programming with the intimate and unique environment of Barcelona, OFF Sónar parties are unlike any others you'll find across Europe. The main venue, Poble Espanyol, allows party-goers to escape the heat and hustle of the city centre, instead offering exquisite architecture and stunning views of the Catalan landscape. From the airy Carpa & Picnic area at the crest of the hill to the intimate 2000 El Monasterio, the venues' electrifying party schedule is a must for those looking to check out something different this summer.
Running alongside the acclaimed Sónar festival, also taking place on the same weekend in Barcelona and welcoming the likes of Gorillaz, Bonobo and Bicep to the city, OFF Sónar has put together a music programme big enough to rival any of the most renowned festivals on the continent this year. Kicking off proceedings are three parties taking place on Thursday 14th June, hosted by It's All About The Music, Detroit Love and Knee Deep In Sound. The highlight on the first day is surely Detroit Love's star-studded lineup at El Monasterio featuring Carl Craig, Moodymann, Omar-S and a special live set from Octave One - all the makings of an unforgettable party.
On the following day, globally-acclaimed immersive entertainment masters Elrow bring their celebrated carnival-style party to the grand setting of Poble Espanyol's Plaza Mayor. With the full lineup yet to be released, the Elrow team have selected their flagship theme, Singermorning, for this one - one of their most vibrant and fun-filled shows that is sure to live long in the memories of those in attendance.
The other parties taking place throughout the weekend will be hosted by Drumcode, SecretSundaze, Ibiza-born WooMooN, Nina Kraviz's celebrated Techno label Trip, and one of the biggest labels on the scene right now, Innervisions. The latter has the privilege of hosting the finale of this year's OFF Sónar celebrations, and they certainly haven't disappointed with the lineup. From 4pm-midnight, those in attendance can expect mind-blowing sets from electronic heavyweights Ben UFO, Dixon, Floating Points, Henrik Schwarz, Jamie XX and many more.
