The Matthew Ship of Bristol have exciting new trips coming up this year for adults and children

Posted on: 26 Jan 2018

Owned by The Matthew of Bristol trust, the historical ship docks outside Bristol’s M Shed museum where you can visit for free.

The Matthew is a staple part of Bristol's naval history. Hop on board to explore the replica of the ship that voyaged far and wide and that helped to discover America and Canada. The modern Matthew is a replica of the 15th century caravel that John Cabot sailed to Newfoundland in 1497.

You can explore the ship and chat to the knowledgeable staff about the history of both the original and the new ship, the building of it and much more. The staff - all of whom are volunteers - are experienced in dealing with groups of all ages and also with special educational needs or disabilities, the ship is also wheelchair accessible.

**All trips can be booked online here**
