Motion unveil Perpetual: A huge new House & Techno series kicking off in February 2018

Posted on: 18 Jan 2018

The undisputed top dog of Bristol's club scene is renowned for attracting some of the hottest talent on the underground music scene year on year, hosting a huge range of events from Techno through to hard-hitting Drum n Bass, Dub, Disco and much, much more. Their fabled In:Motion series recently culminated in two huge New Year's events hosted by Elrow, but there's more to come in 2018 - Motion is back with one of their biggest series announcements to date, featuring Maceo Plex, Dixon and more.

Motion's new Perpetual series invites some of the biggest names in House and Techno to play their updated Marble Factory space.

The new series is set to showcase some of the most exciting and well-respected names across the House and Techno spectrum, bringing an array of esteemed artists to their new Marble Factory space, updated with a crisper soundsystem and brand-new upgraded lighting. The first four acts in the Perpetual series, kicking off on 24th February, are Daniel Avery, Dixon, Roman Flügel and Maceo Plex - not a bad way to get the ball rolling.

Techno heavy-hitter Daniel Avery makes his return to Bristol to get Perpetual underway on Saturday 24th February, following his celebrated sold-out show at Motion in 2016. Over the years Avery has mastered his craft, creating a name for himself with an instantly recognisable sound, transcending the dance floor with his unique mix of propelling techno and expertly interlaced house cuts. His 2013 album, Drone Logic, is one to check out if you haven't already, and tickets for his All Night Long set at Motion are still available in limited quantities. Book now to avoid missing out.

Next up, Motion welcomes celebrated DJ Dixon to the Marble Factory on Saturday 3rd March. Having held the Number 1 spot in the Resident Advisor DJ Poll for four years in a row, Dixon's ability to hold a dance floor with his expert fusions of different styles has won him worldwide acclaim over the years. His talent and passion is evident in his sets, earning him a place among the very top DJs in the world right now, while his Record Label, Innervisions, is massively in-demand and counts the likes of Henrik Schwarz, Rodriguez Jr and Laurent Garnier among its signees.

German electronic master Roman Flügel is the third announcement for Perpetual, scheduled to play through the night on Saturday 31st March. His sets forge a unique path through 20 years of contemporary music expertise, from glitchy house and techno to futuristic Italo-disco and electronica. After devoting his whole life to music, it's no surprise that Flügel has carved out a reputation as one of the biggest names in the thriving German electronic music scene. Tickets for Roman Flügel (All Night Long) are on sale from 10am on Friday 19th January and can be found here.

Motion have arguably saved the best for last in the Perpetual series: an extended set from Techno powerhouse Maceo Plex. Maceo's prowess has continued on an upward trajectory since starting out in the early rave scene of the 90's, largely thanks to his unwavering work ethic. Today he DJs, produces, runs his own label Ellum Audio, and runs his own Mosaic By Maceo parties in Ibiza. His musical knowledge and genre-spanning production continue to destroy dance floors around the world, and he'll bring his expertly crafted sound to Motion on Friday 27th April.

Motion Bristol's new Perpetual series kicks off on Saturday 24th February with Daniel Avery. Tickets for the following three shows are on sale from 10am on Friday 19th January - for further ticket information or to make bookings, visit Motion's website.
