Bristol’s fortnightly free event Revinyl Sessions
Posted on: 11 Dec 2017Bristol-based Revinyl Sessions are a group of musical creatives who host events that take place every couple of weeks at various spots around the city.
The people behind it pride themselves on hosting free events showcasing the finest of vinyl selections in the friendliest of spaces. Over the past two and a half years, the organisers have created a community-focused consistent night, that allows aspiring vinyl DJs, producers and musicians to perform to audiences.
A collective effort, the events bring people together regularly and anyone can sign up to play a 30-minute vinyl set of any genre.
They also invite a ‘special guest’ to each session to exhibit their collection, including the likes of residents Versa, Hi5Ghost, Idle Hands boss Chris Farrell amongst others.
This Wednesday 13th December at The Plough (Easton) they are inviting Bristol dub don Neek, alongside Stryda and Numesa in celebration of the 50th session. Head over to their Facebook page for details on their competition running.
Revinyl Sessions have grown organically from the roots of the Bristol community and they are here to stay. All about experimentation and development, their widely-anticipated website is set to be up and running in the coming months. Be sure to check it out for archived recorded sets, sign-up opportunities, a music blog and community forum and a clothing collab with Dubstudios.
The collective of friends are also pioneering opportunities for UWE students, with the hope to apply for funding to develop and improve DJ workshops through their soon-to-be formal alias: The Community Interest Company (C.I.C).
