Dates announced for Festive Dining in Bristol aboard Tall Ship Kaskelot
Posted on: 21 Nov 2017As the leaves are falling, and the clocks are about to change, it’s inevitable that our thoughts start to turn to Christmas, and with Christmas comes Christmas parties. Bristol has a huge range of venues to hold your ‘work do’ or friends and family gathering, but few venues offer an experience as unique as Tall Ship Kaskelot.
Kaskelot has a fascinating and varied history. She was built by for the Royal Greenland Trading Company in 1948 as a cargo ship. She then provided support for the fisheries in the Faroe Islands. She moved to the UK in the early 80’s and underwent extensive rigging work. She then pursued an illustrious career in the film industry, featuring in productions such as Return to Treasure Island (1986), Amazing Grace (2006) and Poldark (2016). In 2013 Kaskelot underwent another major refit and is now used for a wide variety of hospitality and events, day sailing, festivals and more.
If you hold your festive event on board the Kaskelot, you’ll begin your evening with a glass of bubbly on deck where you’ll have exclusive use to admire the rigging. You’ll then descend into the spacious and atmospheric cargo hold where the ship’s oak frame provides a unique background to your festivities. Venue hire is just £500 for what is a truly unique event space.
The Dates available include 7th, 8th, 9th and 14th, 15th, 16th December. There is also plenty of room in January for post Christmas parties or any other group, corporate events or wedding receptions.
Various menu options are available, with all food freshly prepared on board by the renowned chef behind Bristol’s Clandesdiner secret supper club, who offers a truly bespoke dining experience.
Grazing Menu - £35 per head: a buffet-style banquet including dessert, cheese and coffee, plus bubbles on arrival and half a bottle of wine per person. Available for up to 50 guests.
Sharing Plates Menu - £45 per head: an informal seated dining experience in this decadent setting. Includes bubbles on arrival and half a bottle of wine per person. Available for up to 40 guests.
Bespoke 3 Course Menu - £55 per head: a luxurious feast, designed around your tastes and requirements. Includes canapés and bubbles on arrival, plus half a bottle of wine per person. Available for up to 30 guests.
Kaskelot is moored off Lloyd’s Amphitheatre meaning that she is ideally located for travel by car and public transport, with bus stops and car parks nearby.
