There is, as always, loads going on this week in terms of live music in Bristol, and it can occasionally be hard to choose where to invest that ticket money. We have done the hard work for you and narrowed it down to a few key gigs you cant afford to miss this week!

 

Monday 20th - THE MAGIC BAND PLAY THE MUSIC OF CAPTAIN BEEFHEART: FAREWELL TOUR - The Fleece - MORE INFO

Tuesday 21st - OPETH - O2 Academy - MORE INFO

After seeing their latest studio album, Sorceress, come in at number 8 on the U.S Billboard chart, the Swedish prog-rock outfit Opeth embark on a UK headline tour.

JAWS new album ‘Simplicity’ featuring ‘Cast’, ‘Right In Front Of Me’, ‘What We Haven’t Got Yet’ & ‘Just A Boy’ will be the starting point for their live show

Thursday 23rd - ALISON MOYET - The Colston Hall - MORE INFO

Pop legend Alison Moyet embarks on a world tour to launch her brand new album ‘Other’, due to be released on 16 June 2017. In his first ever live UK headline tour, hiphop and jungle legend Goldie MBE teams up with members of the Heritage Orchestra and special guests to perform iconic hits and new material on the Colston Hall stage. Alongside classics from his revered back catalogue, the MOBO Award-winning songwriter, DJ and producer will perform fresh tracks from his forthcoming album, ‘The Journey Man’, which takes inspiration from Brooklyn’s B-boy culture.

Saturday 25th - COCKNEY REJECTS - The Fleece - MORE INFO

Fiercely working class in stance and attitude, the band eschewed the political ramblings of punk’s first wave and sang about the circumstances that surrounded them and millions of street kids in Britain’s inner cities- Police harassment, street battles and football to name three. Signed by EMI after playing four local gigs (less than the pistols!) they found themselves playing sell out tours the length and breadth of the UK and seeing their debut album storm the charts.
