Let's face it, we all have an inner child in us and there's no better time for it to come out than at Halloween. (Well there is Christmas as well but Halloween is a time when you can dress up as your favourite spooky character and paint all manner of frightening designs on your face. What is there not to like?!

As a celebration, some places in the UK can be a bit sleepy with their efforts to get involved but lucky for us - Bristol just happens to be a hive of activity when it comes to associated Halloween events.

 

But what is happening where? What are the options on offer? Look no further than this adult Halloween guide to Bristol and remember growing old is inevitable but growing up is optional....

 

Bristol Zombie Walk 2017 

If you fancy dressing up as a dead person and stumbling around Bristol, then you'll be interested in the 10th official Bristol Zombie Walk which is happening at College Green on Saturday the 28th of October between 1 - 4pm. People tend to meet at noon before setting off at 1pm. At the end of the walk, people will meet up with the Avon Fire and Rescue Service where they will be conducting a test of their new mass decontamination set up - they will be processing as many of you as possible and awarding freshly "cleaned" zombies with a t-shirt. After all this, there is a 10th birthday party at the Full Moon!

This Halloween themed night is offering dance music, underground house, techno, drum & bass and a blood and guts ball pit! Freak show entertainers will also be walking about and there will be a few Halloween surprises in store for the night!

FEAR at Avon Valley

In all honesty, I am frightened writing about this let alone going to it! Avon Valley Adventure and Wildlife Park are behind this terrifying Halloween event which consists of three award-winning attractions: Phobia, Purgatory and Anarchy Live. This adult only event will also feature street theatre acts, a breathtaking fire show, Frank and his entourage, fairground rides, music, food and bars.

Fright Night at Bristol Zoo

This evening of horror is back by popular demand on Friday the 27th and Saturday the 28th of October. Depending on what time you go, you will either see The Strangers film or the Insidious film and everyone gets a scare tour!

 

PHUCT - Bristol's Legendary Halloween Party!

On the 27th of October from 9pm, Bristol’s Bierkeller promises to put on a night with a fright. It’s all about the metal, rock, punk and nu metal music with DJ Haggis, Dave B and Missy Malice. The venue is saying you should dress to distress and there will be prizes for the best outfits. You also get a free spooky shot of your choice with every drink purchased and there’s a free blood cocktail for everyone in fancy dress until midnight.

 

Murder Mystery Night: Halloween Special at Bristol Museum & Art Gallery

This is the perfect Halloween night out for a group of people and it promises to be a night to remember! Watch as the story line unfolds in front of you, look out for clues and quiz the characters. The event is hosted in the beautiful Winterstoke and Wills Hall at Bristol Museum and there are many treats included, such as  sparkling wine on arrival and a three course dinner with coffee and petit fours.

 

Haunted and Hidden Walking Tours

These tours were featured in the TV programme 'Most Haunted' and you can book yourself on one if you fancy hearing some scary stories about Bristol. You can learn all about Clifton's ghostly Dwarf Highwayman, see Bristol's famous haunted cinema, visit a 16th century haunted house, hear about a church and it's ghostly monk, and see where a cook chased a ghost.
