*Calling all who care about education*

A public meeting about the schools funding crisis will take place at the City Hall in Bristol on Thursday 5th October at 7.30pm.

There will be the opportunity to discuss matters about the schools funding cuts, imposed by the Government, in the hopes to kick-start a full campaign.

The speakers will be Andrew Baisley, who is a national expert on school funding and manages the schoolcuts website which gives the figures for every school in the country, and George Angus of the Fair Funding for All Schools Campaign.

The main purpose of the meeting is organisational: to follow up the big school funding demonstration in Bristol in May by setting up local groups and groups to focus on specific issues such as special education. The latest Government school funding formula has put South Gloucestershire at the bottom of the national league table for per-pupil funding and Bristol has taken one of the biggest cuts.

The meeting also aims to deal with areas of special concern, such as Special Education Need and shrinking curriculum.
