The Dutch giants will this week make the trip from Enschede to Ashton Gate, where they take on Bristol City on Friday night. Tickets are still available.

Ashton Gate will host European football this week, when Bristol City take on Dutch giants FC Twente under the Friday night lights in a pre-season friendly. Grab your tickets for the 19.45 kick off here.

The pre-season period acts dually to allow players some intensive training for the new term whilst also providing a litmus test of sorts for the coming months. The Robins have had a largely successful campaign thus far, picking up wins at Yeovil Town, Bath City and in Tenerife in their month away from Ashton Gate.

To here they return on Friday, however, when they play host to FC Twente, the two-time charges of ex-City midfielder Steve McClaren – whose tenure in the Netherlands did very strange things to his voice.

Twente ended their 2016/17 by coming seventh in the Eredivisie, in a season hampered by financial difficulty. Recent seasons, however, have seen the side take the title, as well as competing in the Champions and Europa Leagues, and therefore represent a stern test for City.

Tickets to the game, which cost £11, are available here. Kick off is at 19.45.
