The Mint Room, Clifton, Launch the Iftar Initiative TODAY.

A selection of special guests and local dignitaries have been invited to enjoy an evening of food and conversation at The Mint Room, Clifton. During Iftar, the moment of breaking fast during Ramadan, the initiative hosts members of the local community with a partner restaurant for an experience of Ramadan, but with the aim of peaceful and friendly dialogue and strengthening relations at a very local level.

The Iftar Initiative at The Mint Room in Clifton

Considering recent events up and down the country, the Iftar Initiative wants to bring people together and help them understand any cultural differences in the community. Hopefully, with the help of some traditional home-made food and non-alcoholic drinks, they can bring a bit of social cohesion to everyone. A few notable figures from Bristol will be attending the morning and the Iftar Initiative, before it has even begun, has been a great idea and a spectacular way of creating understanding between influential people in Bristol and minority communities.

The Mint Room, on Clifton Road, has become a staple of fine dining Indian cuisine in Bristol and raises the bar to a whole new culinary level in the City. They opened the restaurant in December 2014 and wanted to bring not only a unique brand but also a very special Indian ethos, sophistication and flavours to the city.

Their other restaurant in Bath has already scooped numerous prestigious food awards for Best Indian in the Bath Good Food Guide two years running, Best Restaurant in the Bath Life Awards, and Best Newcomer South West at the 2012 British Curry Awards. Both Bristol and Bath folk alike are in for a pretty amazing treat when they head for an incredible Indian feast.

We wish the Mint Room a massive amount of luck with the Initiative. A truly inspirational idea and way of getting people to come together in a time of uncharted seas and confusion. We tip our hats to all that are involved and hope that there are many more mornings like this to follow.
