Posted on: 20 May 2017

This adaptation by new theatre group Beyond The Horizon stays true to the original story, but the scene is very different. It's Mad Max meets Shakespeare in a fast-paced, stripped-back version of one of The Bard's most iconic works. Catch this highlight of the Bristol theatre calendar at The Tobacco Factory from 2:30pm on Sunday 21st May 2017.

Beyond The Horizon present a post-apocalyptic reimagining of Shakespeare's Richard III at The Tobacco Factory

The work, especially the character of Richard, lends itself perfectly to this new take. A hugely flawed individual rises as quickly as he falls, committing heinous acts along the way...yet the audience is drawn to him in spite of his atrocities. There is chaos, power struggles and backstabbing in this shortened, fast-paced 2-hour performance.

“Why I can smile, and murder while I smile.”

This production proudly showcases emerging talent from across the theatre industry. Bristol is happy to welcome them to The Tobacco Factory for what is set to be one of the theatrical treats of the summer.
