Bristol Blue Glass - The Bristol icon that's perfect for any occasion

Posted on: 07 Mar 2017

Bristol Blue Glass is as synonymous with our city as The Clifton Suspension Bridge and Cary Grant, though many might be unaware that you can watch the glass being made in person free of charge and without so much as even calling ahead!

Small groups of 10 or under are welcome to arrive at the studio without prior arrangement. The glass making is free to watch and an experience you won't find anywhere else. Not only that, the sheer amount of products produced by the master craftsmen is something to behold in itself. From the smallest trinkets to the grandest of ornaments and vases, Bristol Blue Glass's products are true art.

If you're looking for something special for a presentation or commemorative piece then nothing says 'Bristol' quite like a keepsake made of Blue Glass. Trophies, plaques, tankards, glasses, jewelery and many, many more bespoke items are all available. The skilled staff are always happy to talk through any requests or ideas you might have.

Bristol Blue Glass was founded in 1988 by James Adlington, with the help of glass maker Peter St Clair. The aim was to re-establish a tradition that had been lost for over 60 years, the art of glass-making. Although most famous for its traditional Bristol Blue Glass, the Studio Shop also sells a variety of art glass in number of amazing colours and not only Blue! Bristol Blue Glass also sells its glass online and from its studio in Arnos Vale and shop in the city centre.
