One of Bristol’s most prestigious golf clubs has an amazing opportunity for the right candidate. Long Ashton Golf Club is now currently recruiting for an Assistant Greenkeeper. Long Ashton is currently home to European Tour Prof Chris Wood and has people from all over the country flocking to it, so you know it prides itself on the appearance of the course.

Long Ashton Golf Club is located on the outskirts of Bristol, just three miles from the City Centre. It was founded in 1893 and is one of the best golf clubs in Bristol.

 

The job will entail working an average of 39 hours per week, experience is essential and salary is dependent of experience. The list of criteria is as follows.

 

  • NVQ Level 2
  • Minimum 3 years’ golf course experience
  • PA1, PA2 and PA6
  • Ability to produce and maintain quality sports surfaces.
  • Knowledge in the use of modern machinery
  • Chainsaw skills an advantage
  • Keen golfer is also desirable

 

The 18-hole course is open all year round after a huge amount of work to ensure that both the greens and fairways are free-draining; meaning golf is available for 12 months and not the usual 6 as in lots of other clubs.
