Pizza and Pasta at L'Osteria, Cabot Circus

Our resident food expert Sarah Starling paid a visit to the latest addition to Cabot Circus' culinary options, the traditional Italian restaurant L'Osteria.

L'Osteria

The newest arrival at Quaker’s Friar is L’Osteria, who describe themselves as being like a, ‘typical Italian osteria’ where fresh Italian food is served in a welcoming atmosphere. When I arrived, I was struck by the warmth on friendliness of the team, and I felt very much like a returning regular as opposed to a new visitor!

I tried several types of pizza and pasta. My particular favourite pasta was the paccheri salsiccia, which is pasta with Italian sausage, leek and white wine.  The pizzas were excellent too, having the perfect balance of softness with a crispy crust. I really enjoyed the salsiccia piccante which is a spicy pepperoni pizza. The pepperoni had a real kick, which I loved! I was too full to try the puddings, but my friends reported that the tiramisu was excellent.

L'Osteria

The restaurant is clean and modern, and was really warm and cosy on a very cold January evening! I loved the open kitchen where we could watch the pizza chefs at work. It was amazing to see their incredible attention to detail even when working at a fast pace.
I would definitely recommend L’Osteria, and it would be a great place to come with any size group, as there’s plenty of space, and even a beautiful private dining room upstairs.
