Bristol Balloons - Flights for 2016 Bristol Balloon Fiesta

Posted on: 13 Jul 2016

Bristol Balloon Fiesta is just around the corner - 11-14 August - and Bristol Balloons are you offering you the opportunity to do much more than just watch from the ground. Special offers and child vouchers are available too!

The Bristol Balloon fiesta is famous the world over and, even considering Bristol's packed calendar of great events, it stands out as one of the must-visit attractions of the year. This year, Bristol Balloons are offering the chance to be a part of the action...

A champagne flight voucher can be yours across one of the four days. Morning flights are available Friday to Sunday and there's also the option of ascending on the afternoons of Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Early Bird discounts are just about still available, but act quickly, and there are child discounts for those aviators aged 9-16. No booking charges or fees apply and all the info you need on booking can be found here. Time really is running out so don't miss out on this incredible experience!

Each day at 6am spectators can grab a butty and coffee to watch the mass early morning ascents. Bristol is the only place in the world, outside of Albuquerque in the US, that you can see a mass ascension as spectacular as this. It takes an extremely high level of skill and knowledge to fly as part of a mass movement of balloons, so this experience is really worth catching. There are also evening ascensions at 6pm, providing the perfect ending to a day out at the fiesta.

The nightglows are a huge talking point of the Fiesta, and draw enormous crowds every year without fail. Thirty balloons take centre stage as their skilled teams work on them from below. The balloons light up at 9.15pm, to a backdrop of fireworks and music, creating a beautiful atmosphere and a stunning end to the festival days on Thursday and Saturday.

There is also a band stand, where local food, wines and beers are served to the sound of some of the best musical talent Bristol has to offer. The Bandstand will feature a range of music, from jazz and blues to electro beats. The Fiesta invariably includes a thrilling fairground with all manner of rides for all ages. There is also food, drinks, and stalls set up around the area to provide a fun-filled atmosphere.

The Balloon Fiesta itself is free to attend though there is a charge for car parking. Whilst you can pay on the gate, it's much cheaper to book in advance - all the parking options are available here.
