Grit Bristol Photographic owner to shave head and donate to children's cancer charity

Joe Coleman, owner of Grit Bristol Photographic - and owner of some seriously long hair - will be shaving his head to not only raise money but the hair itself will be donated to make wigs for children who have sadly lost their hair through cancer treatment.

On Saturday April 30th at Shotgun Barbers in Cotham, Bristol, Joe will go under the scissors, clippers...maybe a hedge trimmer...and shave off the locks he’s been cultivating for the past 5 years. The charity he is supporting is The Little Princess Trust

Many people have shaved their head for charity in the past and we certainly salute them for that. But the scything down of Joe’s flowing locks will not only raise a few pounds for a worthwhile charity; the hair itself will be used to make wigs for children who have sadly lost their own hair through cancer treatment. In many cases the treatment is long, arduous and painful. The loss of their hair is an awful side-effect and one we hope to help with.

Joe, of Grit Bristol Photographic, is looking to raise £1,050. The reason for the quite specific number is that each wig costs £350 to make so this will effectively constitute three wigs to go to deserving children who are battling with cancer day-to-day.

If you can’t help with a donation then please do share this post as someone you know might be able to help this great cause. He has a Just Giving page where you can donate.
