Gloucestershire Cricket charge to the top of Group A in The Royal London One-Day Cup

This was a vital toss for Gloucestershire to win as the weather was always going to play a major part in the outcome of this match.

Three hours of Leicestershire's innings was lost due to the rain but not before David Payne had taken 4 for 23 from his 6 overs. The weather subsequently reduced the match to a 25 over game where each bowler has 5 overs only, Payne had already done the damage with the 6 he had bowled. Leicestershire's Scott Styris and all did their best in the 10 overs left of their innings despite losing Thakor to the first ball of the resumption adding a further 75 runs. Then just to make Leicestershire's task more interesting Duckworth Lewis adjusted this total to set Gloucestershire a target of 131 to win.

Klinger and Marshall set off at a good pace putting on 46 but when Tavare was dismissed by a stunning catch by Robson off Redfern in the covers it left Gloucestershire 59 for 3 . Klinger and Will Gidman played sensibly, taking quick singles where necessary always keeping just ahead of the Duckworth Lewis and keeping one eye on the weather, putting on 74 together to see Gloucestershire to their third win of the competition and top of group A table.

There was a nasty rumour going around the ground that Will Gidman was being sought by among others Somerset . Heaven forbid.
