Fronted by Andrew Stockdale, Wolfmother first burst onto the international scene with their critically acclaimed self-titled debut album, producing rock anthems including Woman, Joker and the Thief and White Unicorn. Their distinctive blend of classic 1970s rock, heavy blues and contemporary edge quickly earned them a worldwide following, and nearly two decades later their live performances remain every bit as powerful.
Fans heading to the O2 Academy can expect an evening packed with soaring guitar solos, driving rhythms and a setlist spanning the band's biggest hits alongside deeper cuts from their impressive back catalogue. Wolfmother have built a reputation for delivering no-frills rock and roll, making every show an unforgettable experience for long-time followers and newcomers alike.
Joining them in Bristol are one of the UK's fastest-rising rock bands, The Howlers. Fresh from European stages alongside Alice Cooper, ZZ Top and Deep Purple, the London outfit arrive on the tour in the wake of the release of their latest single, Cold Sweat, which landed on 23 July via FLG Records.
Moody, atmospheric and deeply personal, the track was born from a health scare that brought frontman Adam Young close to losing his life, and it sounds like it. With support from BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music and Radio X already behind them, and a run of dates with Wolfmother this summer, The Howlers are rapidly building a reputation as one of Britain's most exciting new rock acts. Their second album, Heavy, is due for release on 9 October, making these shows an ideal opportunity to catch the band before the next chapter of their career unfolds.
With a legendary headline act and one of the country's most promising emerging bands on the same bill, Wolfmother's return to Bristol is set to deliver a memorable night of blistering rock music. Doors open at 7pm, with fans encouraged to arrive early to catch The Howlers before Wolfmother take to the stage.
