Achari Indian Kitchen, a Bristol-based restaurant located on Cotham Hill in Clifton, has been recognised as one of the Top 100 Asian Restaurants in the United Kingdom for 2026 at the prestigious Asian Curry Awards, organised by the Asian Catering Federation.

The awards ceremony was held at the Members’ Dining Room in the Palace of Westminster, underscoring the significance of the occasion. The event was hosted by Bobby Dean and attended by ministers, Members of Parliament, entrepreneurs, and leading figures from the hospitality sector.

The annual gala celebrated excellence across the Asian catering industry while also highlighting the sector’s substantial contribution to the UK’s economy and cultural identity. The evening’s programme was presented by BBC host Samantha Renold, who guided proceedings and introduced award recipients.

Opening the event, Sarah Olney welcomed guests and praised the resilience and innovation of Asian restaurants across the country. In a keynote address, Rushanara Ali emphasised the industry’s national importance, stating:

“This industry is worth £4 billion to the economy, the benefits are huge, both economically and culturally.”

She also encouraged greater engagement between business owners and policymakers to help address ongoing challenges within the sector.

Achari Indian Kitchen’s inclusion in the Top 100 highlights its dedication to authentic cuisine, high-quality service, and culinary innovation, placing it among the country’s most respected Asian dining establishments.

While the evening celebrated success, it also served as a platform to address pressing issues facing the industry. Speakers called for urgent government engagement to support workforce development and ensure sustainable growth.
The Asian Catering Federation reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for the sector, aiming to preserve and promote the rich diversity of Asian cuisine within the UK’s hospitality landscape.

We wish Kam and his team at Achari Indian Kitchen the best of luck for the final on 20th July 2026 when this years winners will be decided.
