Experience Poetry Like Never Before with Tappis the Poet at The Criterion on Ashley Road

Join Tappis the Poet for a vibrant and unforgettable open mic evening where poetry, spoken word, and karaoke-style performances come together in a fun and inclusive celebration of creativity. Launching on Wednesday 11 June 2025, this is a new weekly slot that will continue through until 16 July 2025.

Tappis The Poet at The Criterion in St Pauls, Bristol

Hosted at The Criterion pub in Bristol (BS6 5NX), this event series is part of a University of Bristol community engagement project, designed to bring people together through the power of words.

Everyone is welcome, whether you're a seasoned poet, a curious newcomer, or simply a poetry enthusiast. Share your original work, perform a favourite piece karaoke-style, or just enjoy the performances in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

This free weekly series kicks off on June 11th, 7PM-9.30PM, and runs every Wednesday evening thereafter for 6 weeks, creating a regular space for creative expression, cultural exchange, and community connection. Expect an evening full of inspiring spoken word, uplifting performances, and shared stories that celebrate diversity, build confidence, and foster friendship.
