Sports Team announced their return in July with ‘‘I’m In Love (Subaru)’. A dramatic gear shift, the single draws inspiration from Prefab Sprout, Trust-era Elvis Costello, city-pop icon Mariya Takeuchi and Bryan Ferry, it showcases the band at their brightest and most beguiling yet!
New effort ‘Condensation’ will surely be a live favourite with Sports Team’s enthusiastic fanbase. Speaking about the new single, lyricist Rob Knaggs has said: “It’s a song about sweat. We had two years away from playing live and wanted to capture the physicality of being in a packed room with people you love. At a gig or anywhere else.”
Both tracks are taken from the forthcoming new album Boys These Days which boasts some of the Sports Team's most dynamic musical performances to date. While their previous acclaimed efforts were recorded amidst intensive touring, this record is the product of the group’s longest absence from the stage and they’re itching to be back.
As well as Bristol, Sports Team’s upcoming autumn run of dates will see them play shows in Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Sheffield, Glasgow, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, Nottingham, Leeds and London.
