A brand-new show from a Tony & Olivier award winning writer opens next week

Reverberation runs at Bristol Old Vic from Wednesday 2 October until Saturday 2 November 2024.
After a personal tragedy, Jonathan is withdrawn without much social life beyond the men he meets online. When free spirit Claire moves into the flat above, she tries to coax him out of his shell. Drawn together by a need for emotional attachment, they form a bond, but the past eventually meets the present, threatening their newfound happiness!

Matthew López’s remarkable play about loneliness and longing was first staged in Connecticut back in 2015. This fresh new production has been reshaped by López, transposing the action from across the Atlantic to London and the Bristol Old Vic run will be the play’s European premiere.
Rising theatre director Jack Sain (A Little Night Music, LAMDA; Twelfth Night, CSC) directs a stellar cast of Eleanor Tomlinson (One Day, Neflix; Poldark, BBC; The Outlaws, BBC) as Claire, Michael Ahomka-Lindsay (Choir Boy and CABARET, West End) as Jonathan, and recent graduate Jack Gibson as Wes.
Ti Green (Touching the Void) makes a return to Bristol Old Vic on design, as well as sound designer Nicola T Chang (For Black Boys…, West End), lighting designer Robbie Butler (The Glass Menagerie), video designer (Misty, Bush Theatre & Trafalgar Studios, and intimacy co-ordinator Robbie Taylor Hunt (Red, White & Royal Blue, Amazon Prime.
This production comes from Bristol Old Vic and is associated with Glass Half Full Productions. Reverberation has BSL-interpreted, relaxed, captioned and audio-described performances. The age recommendation for this show is 16+.
