From West End to global phenomenon, MAMMA MIA! is Judy Craymer’s ingenious vision of staging the magical storytelling of ABBA’s enduring songs with the story following Sophie, whose quest to find her father brings her mother face-to-face with three men from her past on the eve of a wedding they’ll never forget.

To date, the musical has been seen by over 65 million fans in 50 productions in 16 languages. In 2011, it became the first Western musical to be staged in Mandarin in China. MAMMA MIA! is also the eighth longest-running show in Broadway history where it ran for a record-breaking 14 years.

The 2008 movie version starring Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgård, Julie Walters and Christine Baranski was the highest-grossing live-action musical upon its release. Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again came in 2018 and is the most successful live-action musical sequel of all time.

As well as The Bristol Hippodrome, MAMMA MIA!’s world tour drop by UK venues between October 2025 and January 2026, namely Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre, New Theatre Oxford and Edinburgh Playhouse.
