NOW That’s What I Call a Musical runs at The Bristol Hippodrome, Tuesday 1 until Saturday 5 April 2025.

It’s Birmingham in 1989 and school friends Gemma and April are busy with the very important business of planning their lives based on Number One Magazine quizzes, and dreaming of snogging Rick Astley! Flash forward to Birmingham in 2009, they’re confronted by their worst nightmare, a school reunion…!

 

As friends reunite, drama unfolds, and old flames reappear. So, dust off your spandex, re-crim your hair and prepare to press play on the rest of your life. This fun-filled show is bursting with some of the most iconic hits from the 80s, including ‘Gold’, ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’, ‘Tainted Love’, ‘Hey Mickey’ and many more.

 

The show also features a star-studded central cast with award-winning national comedy icon Nina Wadia OBE (Goodness Gracious Me, Eastenders) playing Gemma and X Factor-winning UK music sensation Sam Bailey taking on the role of April. There will also be a special guest appearance from UK Number One reaching pop star, Sonia.
