OnlyGrans: An acclaimed character comedy & queer clown show is coming to Bristol
Posted on: 23 Aug 2024Described as “a master in satirical clowning and mischief” by See Do Eat Review, Nathalie Fenwick weaves a joyful tale about an old lady who joins Tinder.
OnlyGrans will run at Bristol’s Loco Club on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 September 2024.
The show introduces audiences to Geri, an old lady who bakes the best shortbread around but distrusts “the gays”, because “that kind of thing just isn’t for her, love”. Join Geri as she forages for love by downloading Tinder, and navigating the minefield that is online dating – do not miss this rip-roaring show!

From “explicit pictures” to “hot MILFS”, Geri sees it all and soon realises that her previous idea about what love is and who ought to be allowed to love who, needs to be updated. This is a coming-of-age show, but not as you know it! With its roots in clown.
With roots firmly in clowning, OnlyGrans is an example of how comedy can be used to make serious issues accessible for all. Nathalie Fenwick is a Greek/Australian actress who cut her teeth in the Sydney theatre, film and TV scene, working on projects suh as ABC’s My Place, Baz Luhrmann’s Australia and Sydney Opera House’s The City.
Fenwick recently left Australia to train in Paris with Philippe Gaulier and has been performing her one-woman show, OnlyGrans, in London. This year, the talented creative has toured her show throughout Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide) and taken it to Brighton Fringe Festival.
The rest of the year will see Nathalie Fenwick bring OnlyGrans to UK cities including Bristol next month and Manchester’s The King’s Arms in October. On the show, The List said: “Geri’s journey from reactionary nanna to sexual liberation is a joy to behold”.
OnlyGrans will show at Bristol’s Loco Club on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 September 2024 – grab your tickets HERE.
