Posted on: 14 Aug 2024Returning in October, The Big Scream will screen repertory fantasy, action science fiction and horror films from around the world and celebrate the people who made them.
Forbidden Worlds Film Festival will return to the former Bristol IMAX on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 October 2024.

Returning for two terror-filled days just in time for Halloween, horror fans will be treated to a bloody feast of classic as well as little-known horror flicks on the biggest screen in the South-West.
The event will feature a selection of classic and cult horrors whose VHS have, in the past, intrigued and terrified in equal measure those browsing the isles of their favourite video shops – expect vital curios celebrating the monstrous and the supernatural.
Last year’s edition of this much-loved genre film festival proved a sell-out success with screenings of such creepy classics as Arachnophobia (1990), Night Of The Creeps (1986), Mimic: Director’s Cut (1997), The Guardian (1990), Christine (1983) and The Hidden (1987).
Forbidden Worlds Film Festival was launched in May 2022 at The Bristol Aquarium Cinema (the former Bristol IMAX). It is the city’s leading genre film festival and has garnered widespread attention throughout Bristol and beyond.
Their stellar work has even filtered into Hollywood, with their showings of classic genre movies partnered with special intro videos from icons such as James Cameron, Guillermo del Toro, Jamie Lee Curtis, Peter Jackson and more.
Forbidden Worlds Film Festival will return to the former Bristol IMAX on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 October 2024 – keep up to date by joining the mailing list.
