The Redemption of Thomas Shelby opens to the monstrous backdrop of the Flanders trenches before budding into a deeply personal story set in post-war industrial Birmingham where the Shelby family must face up to the decisions that determine their fate.
Head of the family Tommy falls head over heels in love with a mysterious newcomer, however, as he is building his empire, Grace is secretly operating as a Special Branch agent with the mission of infiltrating the Shelby gang. As a dramatic story unfolds, hearts are broken, and revenge is sought.
All this is breathtakingly brought to life with dazzling dance and a live band performing specially commissioned music from Roman GianArthur as well as iconic Peaky songs from Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Anna Calvi, Radiohead, The Last Shadow Puppets and Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes.
The show is perfect for seasoned fans of the universally acclaimed TV show and those fresh to the Peaky world. Rambert’s production is written by series creator Steven Knight and directed and choreographed by the acclaimed contemporary dance company’s Artistic Director, Benoit Swan Pouffer.
