Old City Sounds returns for its second edition this August Bank Holiday

Old City Sounds will take over Bristol’s Old City on Saturday 24 August 2024.
Following a bumper inaugural edition in 2023, this year’s event promises to be the go-to destination for music lovers and families alike this August Bank Holiday. King Street will set the tone for the celebrations and the Old Duke Jazz Festival will bring swing, blues and so much more.

Transforming the event with a fresh twist, this year’s performances will take place in some of Bristol’s most iconic venues, showcasing Old City businesses and working in partnership with them. The celebration will also feature a vibrant Kids Zone at St Stephen’s Church with various activities and workshops.
Brought to life by Bristol City Centre BID, Old City Sounds will see plenty of music events take over the area. The Old Duke will host its famous Jazz Festival across the long weekend, celebrating its jazz heritage with a range of top artists, while Bristol Old Vic will be hosting three top-secret gigs on the Saturday.
Nearby at Welsh Back, DJs will take to the decks on board the 6 O’clock Gin Boat, curated by international DJ and booking agency, The Pool Agency. St Nicholas Street will also come to life with a mix of sounds at Mother's Ruin and The Crown. Corn Street, St Stephens and Avenue Street will also be offering live music and burlesque.
Small Street’s Blame Gloria will get everyone dancing with its ‘Lose Yourself To Disco’ Bottomless Brunch with DJs on the decks all day, while Baldwin Street’s Tonight Josephine set the party tone. An energetic Bhangra Dance Workshop will introduce children to Bhangra, followed by an African Drumming Workshop.
