On Tuesday 23, it will be time for an open jam night from Community Jam Collective. A great night for networking with other leftfield musicians, attendees can bring their own instruments or use a house piece for an experimental jam where all are welcome.
On night three (Wednesday 24) art rock fans will be able to enjoy some of the very best Bristol has on offer with experimental group JAKABOL, fusing world folk influences with progressive textures and explosive riffs. Support comes from local noisenik ‘rock groop’ Repo Man and improv specialists Improvs Greatest Hits.
Cult favourites HAAL will be bringing their post-rock, metal, trip-hop and industrial noise blend to The Old E on Thursday 25, with support coming from Bristol/Brighton-based alternative rock four-piece The New Cut and instrumental live looping duo Socks & Ballerinas.
Sell out warning for this next one! Iggy Pop-approved noise punks Heavy Lungs and perennial favourites of the Bristol live scene will be lighting up Montpelier on Friday 26. They will be joined by four-piece post-punk outfit Peach and captivating post-rock buzz band Bible Club.
Saturday 27 at The Old sees Bristol post garage/punk trio Holy Popes play a set that is bound to be filled with grit and distortion. Support acts for this one are unmissable fast-rising shoegaze and punk band Taipan and groove-laden outfit Bigbyrd.
On Sunday 28, the DIY Revival week will conclude with a headline show from Cardiff-based seven-piece Papa Jupe’s T.C., merging sleazy surf rock and post-punk cynicism with gospel and disco. Support bands are alt-folk five-piece Foot Foot and daring pilot, intrepid explorer, seminal crab anthropologist and musician Dubi Dolczek.
