FORWARDS partner with Channel 4 for an astonishing programme of speakers
Posted on: 09 Jul 2024Now one of Bristol’s annual cultural landmarks, FORWARDS have today announced a jam-packed line-up of amazing guests for its dedicated talks space – THE INFORMATION.
FORWARDS Festival runs on Saturday 31 August and Sunday 1 September 2024.
The festival has also released news of its stage and content partnership with Channel 4, the perfect affiliation due to their shared dedication to creating change through entertainment. 2024 will see THE INFORMATION welcome prestigious speakers such as Brian Eno, Mikaela Loach, Bashy and Venetia La Manna.

THE INFORMATION aims to tackle pressing cultural issues head-on, also offering audiences ways to engage and make a difference. The 2024 programme will explore gender, race and their role in the climate crisis, media and storytelling, youth exploitation, ethical brands, inequality on the high street and practical boycotting.
FORWARDS has invited leading UK trailblazers, writers, actors and social innovators for talks with Brian Eno in conversation with Mikaela Loach on race in the climate crisis, how to craft influence through storytelling with Youtuber Mariam Musa, presenter Tolly T and Channel 4’s Creative Equity Coordinator, Stacey Olika.
British actor and rapper Bashy will discuss youth exploitation and the road to reform while a talk on gender roles will see drag artist/TV personality Ginny Lemon, artist and writer Travis Alabanza, and drag queen Victoria Stone take to the stage, hosted by Bristol poet and drag artist Fluxx Wyldly.
There will be a total of ten talks across the weekend with other speakers including boycott campaigners Venetia La Manna and Grace Blakely, political campaign group Led By Donkeys, Climate in Colour founder Joycelyn Longdon, rapper/zoologist Louis VI, wildlife presenter Nadeem Perera and Ian-Solomon Kawall from May Garden Projects.
FORWARDS is also, of course, a dynamic live music festival that brings together massive crowds in one of the UK’s most progressive and socially minded cities, Bristol. This year’s festival will welcome Loyle Carner, LCD Soundsystem, Four Tet, Jessie Ware, Underworld and more.
