A legendary Arthurian comedy is coming to Bristol Old Vic this summer

Posted on: 30 May 2024

‘Camelot is in trouble’ in King Arthur, a side-splitting family comedy from award-winning company Le Navet Bete which runs in Bristol for a week across July and August.

King Arthur runs at Bristol Old Vic from Monday 29 July until Saturday 3 August 2024.

With all this trouble, King Arthur knows that if he doesn’t turn things around quickly, this civilisation will be forgotten and be known as nothing other than a rather dull time in the annals of British history. But, when three hapless squires approach him about changing that legacy, a legend is born.

Tickets for this comedic take on Arthurian legend can be booked HERE.

King Arthur comes from one of UK theatre’s best-loved comedy writers and directors, the Olivier-nominated John Nicholson (The Time Machine: A Comedy, The Light Princess, Shaun The Sheep Live, Rik Mayall’s Bedside Tales).

The show will be presented by one of the UK’s leading touring physical comedy theatre companies in Exeter’s Le Navet Bete (Treasure Island, The Three Musketeers, Dracula The Bloody Truth), back with a brand new laugh-out-loud show for the ages.

This is a fun-filled comedy suitable for the whole family that hilariously retells and reworks the legendary Arthurian legends in a manner that will have Bristolian audiences crying with laughter and becoming part of the legend themselves!

Tickets for this show are available from £12 (plus concessions) with special deals also available for groups, schools and more. King Arthur is suitable for children aged 7 + and runs for 2hrs 30mins. There will also be audio described and signed performances.

King Arthur runs at Bristol Old Vic from Monday 29 July until Saturday 3 August 2024, book your tickets HERE.
