You’ve got a chance at redemption – Katy J Pearson is coming back

Posted on: 23 May 2024

After her upcoming sold-out intimate gig at Strange Brew this month, Katy J Pearson is getting ready to return in style this November – don’t miss this chance again.

Katy J Pearson is a Bristolian singer-songwriter who combines folk & pop influences. As her star has risen, she’s quickly become a powerful force in both the local and national music scenes, known for her synthesis of country, pop, and folk into songs that slide between aching melancholy and toe-tapping dancefloor rhythms.

Having previously played festivals from Bristol Sounds, to the most recent edition of FORWARDS, to even Glastonbury, her pedigree is clear to see. As if that wasn’t enough, she keeps quite illustrious company – with collaborations with everyone from Yard Act, to Metronomy, Orlando Weeks and Wet Leg.

Described as a “pop singer-songwriter for the modern catastrophic age”, Katy J Pearson goes from strength to strength: her powerful solo album offerings include 2022’s Sound of the Morning, which saw her buoyed to performances on Jools Holland and LA’s FLOOD Neighbourhoods Sessions.

She also engages in playful yet moving projects with friends, like Katy J Pearson & Friends Presents Songs From The Wicker Man – an album released to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the seminal film, that was recently released (to frenzied excitement) on vinyl as part of Record Store Day.

She’ll be visiting Bristol’s Strange Brew at the end of this month, for a gig that very quickly sold out – but if you missed out on that one, don’t fret! She’ll be returning, this time as part of a full tour celebrating her latest studio album Someday, Now – visting Bristol’s SWX on Friday November 29.

Someday, Now is described as “Unquestionably her most confident, assured, and honest album to date”, Someday, Now is ten tracks of hooky, brilliant songwriting showcasing Katy at her best – no doubt mesmerising as part of a live performance.

Katy J Pearson will be coming to SWX on Friday, November 29. Tickets will go on sale a week from tomorrow, Friday 31 May. For your tickets, keep an eye on SWX’s website.
