First rising to prominence as a viral sensation, the guitar virtuoso two-piece, Showhawk Duo will be in Bristol this month as part of their brand new headline tour.

Known worldwide for their innovative style – flawlessly performing electronic dance tracks on acoustic guitar – Showhawk Duo have consistently succeeded in breaking down the barriers between acoustic and electronic music on massive stages all over the world.

Guitarists Mikhail Asanovic and Jake Wright, better known as The Showhawk Duo, have seen a remarkable rise since their early days busking on the street. The two-piece are now mainstays of the Ibiza scene with their sensational takes on the likes of Daft Punk and Zombie Nation a hit with clubbers.

Asanovic and Wright bring deeply contrasting musical influences to the project. The former’s background as a classically trained guitarist who studied at Manchester RNCM and the latter’s experience in rock and metal bands make for an intriguing cocktail of styles

Thanks to this unorthodox approach to music, The Showhawk Duo have garnered a massive cult following over the years, piquing the interest of various industry giants. The double act have appeared on Nick Grimshaw’s Breakfast Show on Radio One and have broadcasted on UK social media giant Ladbible’s channel.

They have also become known as festival mainstays with high-profile appearances at the likes of Bestival, Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party and Boomtown to name but a few. From playing tiny venues at the Edinburgh Fringe to bossing main stage sets at some of the UK’s biggest music festivals, The Showhawk Duo have come a long way since their days spent busking.

As part of the tour, The Showhawk Duo will drop by Bristol’s SWX on Friday 26 April. Tickets can be found here.
