Further casting announced for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in Bristol

Joining Emmerdale star Liam Fox, who is Grandpa Potts, is Ellie Nunn (Shakespeare In Love, Noel Coward Theatre), who will enchant audiences as Truly Scrumptious.

 

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang runs at The Bristol Hippodrome from Tuesday 29 April until Sunday 4 May 2025.

 

These two stars will lead an exceptional cast in bringing the fantastical world of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang to life! Complete with direction from Thom Southerland (Titanic, Parade), this new production of the timeless Ian Fleming story is sure to prove a theatrical highlight of the year!

Liam Fox, renowned for his portrayal of Dan Spencer in Emmerdale, brings his wealth of experience to the role of Grandpa Potts, while Ellie Nunn – who boasts her own impressive list of on-stage and on-screen credits – is the perfect fit for Truly Scrumptious.

 

Among the other newly announced cast members are Martin Callaghan (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat) as Baron, Jenny Gayner (Annie The Musical) as Baroness, Michael Joseph (Alice In Wonderland) as Goran and John Macauley (The Bodyguard) as The Toymaker.

 

Based on Ian Fleming’s legendary children’s tale which was later adapted into a famous 1968 film, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang features an unforgettable score from the Sherman Brothers including such classics as Toot Sweets, Hushabye Mountain, Truly Scrumptious and the Academy Award-nominated title song, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

 

The story follows absent-minded inventor Caractacus Potts who restores a broken-down racing car with the help of his children Jemima and Jeremy. Soon the family discover that the car has magical powers, and along with the delectable Truly Scrumptious, the family end up on a hilarious and fantastical adventure to far-off lands.
