Direct from The London Palladium, this sensational production of one of the world’s most beloved musicals, The Wizard of Oz, flies into Bristol.

 

The Wizard of Oz runs at The Bristol Hippodrome from Tuesday 2 until Sunday 7 April 2024.

 

Starring JLS sensation Aston Merrygold as The Tin Man, alongside RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner and Dancing On Ice showstopper The Vivienne, as The Wicked Witch of the West, this is sure to prove a family-friendly show for all the family. Based on the classic story from L. Frank Baum, The Wizard of Oz tells the tale of Dorothy, Toto and her unlikely companions as they embark on a wonderous adventure along the yellow brick road to the merry old land of Oz.

 

With a magnificent songbook, featuring classics from the Oscar-winning film, sing your heart out to such numbers as ‘Over The Rainbow’, ‘Follow The Yellow Brick Road’ and ‘We’re Off To See The Wizard’ as well as additional songs from musical theatre titans Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.

 

The production features star-studded acting turns from JLS singer Aston Merrygold – reprising his acclaimed role of The Tin Man for select dates of the 2024 tour – and the first-ever winner of Drag Race UK and Dancing On Ice finalist The Vivienne.

 

Also on the principal cast are Aviva Tulley (Book Of Mormon, UK tour) as Dorothy, Benjamin Yates (Emmerdale) as The Scarecrow, Nic Greenshields (Les Misérables, West End) as The Cowardly Lion, Alex Bourne (Annie, West End) as The Wizard, Emily Bull (Matilda, UK tour) as Glinda The Good & Abigail Matthews (War Horse, West End) as Toto.

 

In addition to Bristol, the Wizard of Oz UK and Ireland tour is still to visit theatres in Bradford, Plymouth, Nottingham, Nottingham, Manchester, Woking, Belfast, Dublin, Birmingham, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Milton Keynes, Cardiff, Wolverhampton and Sunderland.
