Bristol Comic Con & Gaming Festival is BACK this Saturday

Posted on: 13 Mar 2024

This Saturday, 16 March, one of Bristol’s biggest comics and gaming conventions is returning to Ashton Gate.

Bristol Comic Con & Gaming Festival is a celebration of all things in the culture of comics, gaming, and everything beyond. Having previously graced Bristol’s ground in successful past iterations, it’s back once again – with everything you might expect.

BCC&GF is coming to Ashton Gate Stadium in Bedminster this very weekend, for a full 6-and-a-half hours, starting at 10am sharp.

Cosplay fans will be pleased to hear that there are plenty of fun opportunities on offer for costumed antics – a cosplay competition will be folded into the truly ambitious convention, and cosplayers and plainsclothes civilians alike will be able to take advantage of the sheer, mind-bending array of photo ops available!

From franchise-specific ops like E.T, Star Wars and others, to the exciting themed opportunities with evocative names like “Steampunk” or “Anime”, the treasured memories you’ll capture in these truly unique photo ops are surely worth the price of admission alone!

In addition, fans will be able to meet special guests from the world of comics, film & TV – guests like Paul McGann, who Doctor Who fans will know as the Eighth Doctor, but film buffs might also recognise as Richard E Grant’s co-star in the 1987 classic Withnail and I. Other guests include comics artists that fans will be no doubt rabid in their anticipation of, with guest attendees including Alex Mines, Nick Gribbon and Lee Bradley.

Comic Con attendees will also be able to visit the charmingly-named “Gaming4u” zone, featuring cutting-edge gaming experiences like VR and Mario Kart. T he Pollux to Gaming4u’s Castor will be the Tabletop Gaming Zone – a haven for all those with a love of cards, dice, or meeples!

Bristol Comic Con & Gaming Festival will take place at Ashton Gate this Saturday, 16 March. For tickets, go to Eventbrite.
