Dizzee Rascal, born Dylan Kwabena Mills in 1985, is a British rapper, songwriter, and record producer renowned for his pioneering role in the grime music scene. Rising from the streets of East London, Dizzee's career took flight with his debut album Boy in da Corner in 2003, winning the Mercury Prize and marking a pivotal moment in British music history.

Known for his distinctive flow, raw lyrics, and innovative beats, Dizzee quickly became a symbol of authenticity and originality in the genre. He continued to push boundaries with subsequent albums like Showtime and Maths + English, cementing his status as a UK music legend.

The groundbreaking East London MC’s sharp flows, killer lyrics and heavy beats have inspired such artists as Stormzy, Skepta, Jme, Tempa T, Tinie Tempah, Plan B and many more. In August, Dizzee fans will be able to catch their hero live at Crystal Palace Bowl with support from the likes of Lethal Bizzle and Kurupt FM.

Away from the MC’s incredible musical legacy, it is important to note that, in March 2022, he was convicted of assaulting his former partner, for which he received a community order as well as a restraining order.

Dizzee Rascal will play a FREE show under the glass dome on the Upper Ground of Cabot Circus at 12 PM today.
