Hyper pop producer-vocalist BUFFEE releases hedonistic new single

Released once again through serial tastemakers Spinny Nights, BUFFEE’s latest effort ‘Heaven’ sees the Bristol-born, Manchester-based artist unleash an industrial pop rampage.

 

BUFFEE’s latest single, ‘Heaven’, is an infectious rampage through the artist’s now trademark industrial soundscapes, this time embracing the thrilling hedonism of sultry vocal hooks and four-to-the-floor kicks.

 

Released last week, the single is partnered with a music video (directed by Manu Mactaggart) that can be watched below…

 

 

‘Heaven’ is undoubtedly the Manchester-based act’s most pure-pop release to date, moving away from the abstract quality of her previous output but maintaining the blizzard of crunchy samples and throbbing bass that has characterised her work to date.

 

Speaking about the new single, BUFFEE offers: “'Heaven' is an ode to a maximalist approach to mixing and producing in the bedroom. It’s also Frankenstein’s monster of several songs I wrote, drawn together. It’s a hollow crunchy shell of a song held together by pop conventions and fun.”

 

‘Heaven’ is the follow-up single to BUFFEE’s explosive debut EP, Victory Lap. We included the five-track offering in our rundown of the Bristol albums and Eps of the year 2023, stating:

 

“Victory Lap swings unpredictably from club-ready techno to syrupy glitch pop, with unpredictable stop-offs at straight pop and industrial noise along the way. Through a collage-like use of compression and catchy melodies, BUFFEE explores the turmoil of her teenage years, taking us on a whistle-stop tour of a deeply inventive musical mind.”

 

Alongside her early career output, BUFFEE has supported the likes of Felicita, Izzy Spears, Mun Sing, DJ Fingerblast, Jennifer Walton and Kai Whitson, in addition to sets at Manchester’s FAIR PLAY Festival and Beyond The Music.
