After attending last night’s performance, our reviewer, Sy Husain described the English National Ballet’s Giselle, thus: “The ballet was spectacular! Akram Khan is a contemporary masterpiece utilising minimalist design elements with his choice of wardrobe and props,or shall I say prop. The use of the wall is genius and visually impactful.

“The dance troop represented Akram’s mix of dance style immaculately while still showcasing in clever proportions, classic ballet moves and his own classical Indian and contemporary expressive dance styles. He really brought a classic story straight through a Time Machine and made it relevant to the current culture and viewers.”

Featuring an ominous score from Vincenzo Lamagna adapted from the original piece by Adolphe Adam and performed by the English National Ballet Philharmonic, don’t miss out on the chance to catch the greatest of romantic ballets, boldly reimagined at The Bristol Hippodrome.
