The weekend will see a brand-new exclusive exhibition running next to Concorde Alpha-Foxtrot (the Aerospace museum’s star attraction), focusing on why Concorde was retired from service, the legacy it left behind and whether there is a future for supersonic flight.
Sunday 26 November will also see three special events take place, commemorating this famous date in aviation history. At 11.30 AM and 1.07 PM, visitors will be treated to a demonstration of the Concorde’s nose droop with the plane’s servicing panels and engine bay doors also opening.
The droop nose was designed to give pilots better visibility during take-off and landing. Alpha Foxtrot’s droop nose was decommissioned following its final flight in 2003, however, in 2019 it was restored by Aerospace Bristol’s conservation team. Book tickets here.
Between 4.45 PM and 6.45 PM, step onboard and try out the luxurious £14,000 per pair leather seats during an exclusive Concorde technical tour here you will learn all about what it was like to fly faster than a rifle bullet on the edge of space. You can also ask questions, take pictures and toast the Concorde with a glass of fizz or juice. Book tickets here.
There will also be a special anniversary lunch underneath Concorde Alpha Foxtrot, the last ever Concorde to take to the sky. Special guests at the lunch will include the Concorde flight crew, engineers and cabin crew sharing their memories, anecdotes and fascinating insights into what it was like to design, build and work on board the historic aircraft.
