Proper Comedy kicks off this autumn with side-splitting appearances from Trigger Happy Dom Joly and the master of one liners, Milton Jones.

Organised and hosted by Propyard, Bristol’s hotspot for all things arts and culture, prepare yourself for two nights of Proper Comedy at the St. Phillips warehouse on Sunday 1 October (Dom Joly) and Sunday 5 November (Milton Jones) 2023 – you’re sure to leave in hysetrics!

Kicking off with a one night only performance on Sunday 1 October, Trigger Happy funny man Dom Joly will make his grand, highly anticipated return to the stage following a hiatus. Warming up to the return of his pandemic-halted tour hits the road again, Dom will be stopping off in Bristol to discuss his life as a serial globe trotter of dangerous travel spots.

From North Korea to the Congo with pit stops in Syria and Chernobyl – and always armed with his trusty powerpoint – Bristolian comedy fans can expect some serious laughter at the hands of Dom’s holiday snaps, with a subtle sense of danger throughout.

The second show, on Sunday 5 November, sees Mock The Week regular and one liner legend Milton Jones take to the Propyard stage. With his signature Hawaiian shirt, messy hairdo and cartoonish persona, Jones perfectly encompasses dry British humour.

From 7 PM, attendees can expect lengthy, unpredictable monologues that mirror that of a mad scientist on the brink of discovery in addition to quick wit and total chaos for a night that will leave you in stitches – the good kind, he hopes.

Jamie Joiner (Director of Propyard) has said of the event: “We can’t wait to bring two comedy legends to Propyard for some hilarious and unforgettable evenings. Arts and culture is who we are and being able to programme events that capture the diversity and broad spectrum of the arts is what we love to do. We’re huge comedy fans at Propyard and we'll be in the front row for each of these icons. Well, not the front row… it is stand up after all!”

Tickets for both Proper Comedy shows at Propyard are on sale now for £20 and can be purchased HERE.
