Brooklyn based buzz band Geese are coming to Bristol next week

Posted on: 30 Aug 2023

The Partisan Records signees are journeying around the UK next, touring their “post-apocalyptic rock n roll” sophomore album, 3D Country.

Geese will drop by Bristol’s Thekla on Thursday 7 September 2023.

New single, ‘Mysterious Love’ is a microcosm of everything 3D Country has to offer – showcasing the five-piece’s tendency for angular experimentation as well as warm harmonies. Fusing classic rock and their own unique style, Geese’s latest record paints a picture of a newer, weirder America.

Geese emerged out of nowhere in the summer of 2021, becoming something of an overnight sensation. Buoyed by a level of hype not seen by any American rock band in recent memory, suddenly a band that had previously planned to release music, break up, and go away go away to college was touring the world.

The band soon made their TV debut on Colbert, profiled by the likes of The New York Times, Stereogum and more, including Rolling Stone who labelled them “indie rock prodigies”, as well as supporting legendary acts such as Jack White and Spoon.

Still featuring their original lineup of vocalist Cameron Winter, guitarist Gus Green, guitarist Foster Hudson, bassist Dom DiGesu and drummer Max Bassin. However, despite this continuity, Geese’s brand new record 3D Country sees the band redefine themselves with a fresh, adventurous sound.

3D Country is co-produced with James Ford - who has previously worked with the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Blur and Depeche Mode - and displays a heightened sense of ambition as well as almost phantasmagoric reflections on life. Max Bassin sums up the record, thus: “It feels like going to the circus and instead of having a good time, everyone is trying to kill you.”

Geese’s UK tour will begin at End Of The Road Festival in Dorset before dropping by venues in Brighton, Bristol, London, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham. Full details can be found on the band’s website.
