Saffron announces new series of upcoming interviews with Bristol-based artists
Posted on: 29 Aug 2023The Bristol-based music non-profit have teamed up with CDR for a series of FREE in-person, production-focused conversations with artists from the Saffron Music community.
Saffron’s CDR sessions will see one talk a month between now and November, spread across Stokes Croft’s The Love Inn and Dareshack on Wine Street.
Each talk in this series will be an in-depth interview with the guest artist – namely Yushh, Grove and Shanti Celeste – exploring their career and creative process. These events are open to all music lovers and will be flanked by ‘OpenCDR’ – a DJ set of audience music submissions.

On Wednesday 13 September, Bristol based DJ/producer and founder of label Pressure Dome Yushh will be at Love Inn. The Saffron tutor’s broken beat take on UK techno has seen her land releases on K-LONE & Facta’s Wisdom Teeth, All Centre, Woozy and Well Street Records. Book your place HERE.
Next up, on Monday 16 October, Grove will be in conversation at Dareshack with Saffron Artist and Label coordinator, Hari. A Bristol-based DJ, vocalist and live performer, Grove has commanded massive stages all over the UK and beyond with their blend of politically charged lyrics and high octane fusion of dancehall, punk and jungle. Thursday 2 November will see legendary Bristol DJ, producer, radio host and illustrator Shanti Celeste appear at The Love Inn. Now London-based and co-head of record label Peach Discs, Shanti has releases on Idle Hands, Love International Recordings, Secretsundaze and more. Book your place HERE.
The ‘OpenCDR’ section of the events will allow music makers the chance to hear their own music on a top-quality club sound system with all experience levels and genres welcome. Join what is, in Saffron Music, a supportive community of artists and producers.
