One of the UK’s top football podcasts is back touring the UK – and it’s coming to Bristol!

Back later this year due to overwhelming public demand, award-winning podcast The Guardian Football Weekly is coming to Bristol, featuring the beloved podcast’s unique take on the beautiful game.

 

The Guardian Football Weekly live tour will appear at Bristol Old Vic on Tuesday 14 November 2023.

 

Featuring hosts Max Rushden and Barry Glendenning as well as a host of your regular Football Weekly favourites, each show will feature football talk, plus audience interaction, special guests and stories the lawyers don’t let them tell on the podcast!

Despite moving to Australia, Max Rushden has been able to seamlessly continue life as the main host of Football Weekly, with only a minor drop off in quality. He repeatedly assures Guardian bosses that his references will remain UK-centric so there will be no mention of Stan Laziridis, Skippy or fairy bread.

 

Death, taxes and Barry Glendenning telling a revealing story on a Football Weekly live show – these are life’s only guarantees. He lives in a state of constant irritation at Max for stereotyping him as the pod ‘clown, however, he cannot wait for this live tour – despite rejecting every idea proposed thus far.

 

Joined by a whole host of podcast regulars throughout the upcoming tour, last year’s outing features such sights as Mark Langdon’s Meat Raffle, Barry’s rendition of ‘Call Me Maybe’ and Steve Claridge eating industrial quantities of fruit in his parent’s kitchen. This time, the team promises at least 2 original, never before seen ideas and 5 fresh anecdotes.

 

On top of their Bristol appearance, Guardian Football Weekly live tour will visit venues in London, Manchester, Dublin (two dates) and Brighton as well as an online livestream throughout November.
