Celebrate the holidays with We The Curious’ Summer of Play

Posted on: 27 Jul 2023

Whilst their building is closed following last year’s awful fire, We The Curious are still busy providing Bristolians with fun activities to keep them occupied this summer holiday.

We The Curious’ ‘Summer of Play’ runs until September 2023 at Anchor Square and across Bristol. If you’re looking for a fun, FREE activity this summer, read on to find out what We The Curious has in store.

For more information about Summer of Play, as well as other summer activities, visit the science centre website.

The We The Curious team will be taking over Anchor Square this summer as well as venues across the city, creating spaces for visitors to experiment, play and get creative. Yet more activities are still to be announced, from exploring the world of robots to creating constellations and stories.

‘On a Roll!’ will run at Anchor Square until Sunday 3 September, allowing Bristolians of all ages to experiment with wheels, weights and a big ramp, eventually having a go at inventing their own mini rover.

Inspired by their Big Book of Play, We The Curious will be journeying around the city this summer, popping up at festivals and local events to instigate some real family fun – can you create a boat to carry buried treasure? Or invent a myth about constellations?

You’ll be able to catch the team at Hartcliffe and Withywood Community Funday on Thursday 27 July, National Play Day at Blaise Castle on Wednesday 2 August, ActiveLockleaze on Thursday 3 August, Knowle West Fest on Saturday 5 August, St George Community Centre’s ToddleFest on Sunday 20 August and more. Find a full list here.

The We The Curious team will also be running Boxville in September, an extra special immersive show that takes attendees on an adventure into a land made entirely of cardboard! Find out more here.
