Posted on: 19 Jul 2023

Belmont Estate and Bristol Beacon are teaming up to bring you two unforgettable open-air concerts at the stunning Walled Garden amphitheatre on the 22nd and 23rd of July.

On Saturday, July 22nd, Kevin Figes' jazz sextet You Are Here will take the stage for a special tribute to the late pianist Keith Tippett. They'll be performing a mesmerizing selection of Tippett's epic compositions, along with those of Soft Machine's Elton Dean and Figes' own originals. Get ready to be swept away by the smooth sounds of jazz, all set against the picturesque backdrop of Belmont Estate's tranquil surroundings.

The following afternoon, on Sunday, July 23rd, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra String Ensemble will whisk you away on a musical journey spanning 450 years of music history. As you bask in the afternoon sunshine with your family and friends, the orchestra will serenade you with Music of Reflection, featuring beloved orchestral pieces from composers like JS Bach, Corelli, Arvo Pärt, and Jessie Montgomery.

And it's not just the music that will delight your senses. Guests can also indulge in delectable street food from Pizzarova – one of Bristol’s most popular pizza chains – accompanied by a fine selection of wine, local organic cider, soft drinks, and Bristol-brewed beers from the venue's Potting Shed pub.

Todd Wills, Artistic Director at Bristol Beacon, can't wait to welcome everyone into the secluded Walled Garden, surrounded by rolling countryside and rustic walls, for this unique concert experience - and Henry Rossiter, Business Director at Belmont Estate, shares the excitement of hosting these open-air concerts for the second year in a row, providing a perfect way to connect with nature and enjoy music, food, and sunshine.

These concerts are part of Bristol Beacon's Sustainable Travel Pilot Programme, with a goal to become Net Zero by 2030. You can do your part by choosing a more sustainable way to travel to Belmont Estate, such as public transport or bicycle. If you arrive by bicycle or bus, you'll even receive a free drink voucher at the entrance!

So, mark your calendars, pack your picnic blankets, and get ready for a weekend filled with harmonious melodies and scrumptious delights. Gates open at 12:30 pm for both concerts, and the performers will grace the stage from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Everyone is welcome, and tickets are available on the Bristol Beacon website.
