Mix Nights is throwing a open-air party for a really good cause

Mix Nights is bringing the party to Propyard this summer with a vibrant event featuring an incredible lineup of artists – and the money is going to a very good cause.

Mix Nights is a female and non-binary led DJ collective providing a safe space for people to learn and experiment with DJing – and then sending those DJs into the world for some seriously good nights.

This month, Mix are hosting a special open-air summer party at Propyard, with a huge lineup of female and non-binary DJs – including Mix Nights co-creators Daisy Moon and Em Williams – all to raise money for Mix Nights’ sister initiative, Saffron.

A music tech initiative taking a crucially intersectional approach to addressing the gender imbalance in the industry, Saffron provides courses, mentoring and artist development programmes to help increase the less than 5% of the music tech industry that’s comprised of women, non-binary or trans people.

Since its establishment in Bristol, UK in 2015, Saffron has grown from a one-woman operation to a global initiative that supports thousands of people worldwide in accessing music education and building a strong community.

Unfortunately, with recent art funding cuts, Saffron is struggling – which is why fundraisers like this are so important. All profits from the event will go towards supporting Saffron's mission of creating a fairer and more inclusive future for the music industry.

Other acts on for the Mix Nights Summer Party include NTS resident Elena Colombi, champion of trans and NB artists I.Jordan, Boiler Room-featured Amaliah, and Saffron alumni Caragh. Attendees can expect some deep cuts and truly tasty selections from across genres from cosmic psychedelia and pounding jungle to obscure post-punk – the only predictable thing about this night is that it’ll be top notch.

Mix Nights Summer Party takes place on the 22nd July at Propyard. If you want to support a really worthy cause – and have a great night out while you’re at it – get your tickets from the Propyard website here.
