Ever since the mid-90s, David and Stephen Dewaele of 2ManyDJs have consistently tested the boundaries of electronic music, pushing it into new and innovative territory. You might know them by their DJ alias (2ManyDJs), the band (Soulwax), a record label (DEEWEE) or their sound system (Despacio).
With Soulwax, the duo raised the bar for leftfield rock, while Despacio (created alongside LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy) pushed sound system culture to its limit. Over the years, the brothers have also remixed a host of massive acts including Tame Impala, Hot Chip and Arcade Fire
Over the decades, Erol Alkan's has been a DJ, producer, label owner, radio host and collaborator – anything creative, he’ll give it a go. His history reads like musical mythology; the shy boy who snuck out to play indie records to unforgiving crowds and transformed the London club scene, bridging disparate scenes with experimentation and abandon.
This unparalleled DJ pairing is presented by city centre venue SWX and Bristol-based independent festival organisers and promoter, Simple Things who have become synonymous with programming the best underground and experimental shows throughout the city.
Upcoming Simple Things events include Gold Panda at Lost Horizon on Thursday 2 March, Helena Hauff at Strange Brew on Friday 7 April, 65daysofstatic at Trinity Centre on Sunday 17 September and more. They have also announced the return of the Simple Things Festival in early 2024. Find out more here.
