Carly Rae Jepsen will perform at O2 Academy Bristol on Sunday 12 February.

Known for her penchant for joyful, catchy pop anthems, Jepsen spent her early years exploring the delights of pop culture in her hometown of Mission, British Columbia, Canada, starring in various school productions of popular musicals.

Jepsen first garnered national attention with an appearance in the fifth series of Canadian Idol in 2007, finishing third. The next year, she released her full-length debut Tug of War, a folk-inspired album that established the young Canadian’s reputation as one to watch.

Indeed, three years later, Jepsen achieved widespread mainstream success with the release of ‘Call Me Maybe’. With the help of fellow Canadian superstar Justin Bieber who championed the singer, the song earned her a number-one hit in both Canada and the US.

'Call Me Maybe' was included in her 2012 EP, Curiosity, which was followed mere months later by Jepson’s sophomore album, Kiss, which charted in the top ten in Australia, Canada, the US and the UK.

The following years saw continued success for Jepsen with her fourth album, Dedicated, coming in 2019. The memorable title track of 2022’s The Loneliest Time, saw the 37-year-old win over a new generation of pop fans thanks to virality on the popular social media platform TikTok.

Next month, Carly Rae Jepsen will journey around the UK and Ireland to play venues in Dublin, Leeds, Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham, Brighton and London as well as Bristol.

Jepson’s appearance at O2 Academy Bristol on Sunday 12 February will be her second in Bristol in less than a year, having played at Pride back in July 2022 - see picture above. Tickets for the show can be found HERE.
