Theatre lovers are invited to head down to Bristol Hippodrome to witness the historic tale of Jean Valjean, a French peasant who is freed after serving nineteen years in prison for stealing a loaf of bread, and his journey to redemption.

Jean Valjean’s story touches that of a plethora of intriguing characters; including tragic prostitutes, student revolutionaries ready to die for their cause, automatonic policemen and a crooked pub landlord and his equally crooked wife.

Undisputedly one of the most popular musicals of all time, Les Misérables has been seen by over 120 million theatregoers in 52 countries worldwide. The massive production requires approximately 101 cast and crew members to be directly involved in every performance.

This brilliant new staging of an all-time classic has received widespread praise from all over the world, being hailed as ‘Les Mis for the 21st century’. The production remains true to Victor Hugo’s original tale, however, with scenery inspired by the great writer’s paintings.

The new stage version of Les Misérables also retains Claude-Michel Schönberg’s magnificent original score, including songs such as ‘I Dreamed a Dream’, ‘On My Own’, ‘Bring Him Home’, ‘One Day More’, ‘Master Of The House’ and many more.

In addition to Bristol Hippodrome, Les Misérables will visit London’s Sondheim Theatre (for a long-time run), Hull New Theatre, Birmingham Hippodrome and Norwich’s Theatre Royal.

Les Misérables will run at Bristol Hippodrome between Tuesday 12 July and Saturday 6 August with tickets available from £20. Tickets can be purchased here.
